Hussein Çalayan seals a three-season design deal with VSP
|This week it was announced that Hussein Çalayan, the British/Turkish Cypriot fashion designer has signed on a three-season collaboration deal with the Parisian luxury leatherwear expert VSP. Twice winner of the British Designer of the Year, Çalayan trained at London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and received the MBE in 2006.
VSP – Very Special Pieces of Vespucci – resulted from the Istanbul leather manufacturing company named Vespucci, established by Kadri Soygül in Istanbul in 1987, starting in 2006 to collaborate with cutting edge and often-unknown creative talents from all over Europe.

Currently the world is watching the suffering of children in parts of the world where they can do nothing to help. If they could, no doubt they would. Many in Cyprus feel a sense of inadequacy that they are helpless to help.
However, chances get presented on one's doorstep, and for Lee Hickens, he has one little boy that he can help. Actually this one little boy is not so little anymore, he will be ten years old on the 9th September and he does not live in a war zone, but much of the life of him and his family has been a huge struggle against unfair odds.
