The use of chemical weapons is a game changer - says Obama

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: "The military is 'ready to go' in responding to Syria."

TURKEY: "Turkey could never take sides with a person who has gassed innocent civilians.”

UNITED KINGDOM: "What we have seen in Syria are appalling scenes of death and suffering because of the use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime, I don't believe we can let that stand."

FRANCE: "France is ready to punish those who took the decision to gas the innocent."

RoC: “Cyprus will not play major role in any Syria strikes”

IRAN: "We want to strongly warn against any military attack in Syria. There will definitely be perilous consequences for the region. These complications and consequences will not be restricted to Syria. It will engulf the whole region."

RUSSIA: "Western attack on Syria would be catastrophic."

SYRIA: "Prove it!"

Ships and aircraft are in place, awaiting President Barack Obama's orders. Will he make the move?

David Cameron has declared that he will not take action without a UN mandate, so the USA will need to go ahead without the UK, but may join in at a later date if the decision to attack is taken.

There is an exodus of Syrians fleeing Syria seeking refuge in neighbouring countries.

It is believed that Barack Obama will make a decision by this weekend.

Vietnam gains its daughter - North Cyprus’s loss – ‘Farewell Yen’

Tears and hugs were the order of the day at Bamboo Beach; as earlier in the week Steve Sydenham, his wife Vanessa and other friends said a final good bye to Yen, who goes to join her husband Hai and son Toan back in Vietnam. Bamboo beach was where Yan and husband Hai were working very happily until the premises was closed due to a premature departure of the proprietor Al August.
